Year of Compassion
Celebrating His Holiness the Dalai Lama's 90 Birthday
DearStudents, Parents and Staffs,
It is with great joy and deep reverence that we celebrate the 90th Birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Tibetan communities across the world are observing this blessed occasion as the Year of Compassion. As a mark of our gratitude to His Holiness and inspired by his Four Core Commitments, our school has contributed to this celebration through essay writing and a tree and flower planting drive to preserve our environment. The School Ghoton Committee has also organised several wonderful programmes to honour this milestone. At the same time, this celebration reminds us of something equally precious our Tibetan culture and language. His Holiness has always emphasised that our language, traditions, and cultural heritage are the very soul of our identity. As students, one of the greatest offerings we can make to His Holiness is to speak our mother tongue with pride, embrace our traditions wholeheartedly, and pass them on with love and care. Preserving our culture is not a duty alone — it is a gift we give to ourselves and to future generations. I encourage every student to carry the spirit of this celebration forward take responsibility for our earth, practise self-discipline, be kind and compassionate toward one another, and hold our culture and language close to your heart. In doing so, wehonour His Holiness in the truest and most meaningful way.
